The battery of the device has fallen out or needs to be replaced – what can I do?

The air-Q is built so that you can easily open it yourself to reinsert the battery.

  1. Open the unit (a Torx Tx6 screwdriver is required).
  2. Carefully move the maintenance switch to the position away from the SD card (for the first revision of the air-Q, the switch is inside the housing – in this case, move it away from the battery).
  3. The button cell is visibly located on the circuit board and can be removed from its socket by pulling it slightly and install a functioning button cell. Connect the air-Q to the power supply and let it start.
  4. The air-Q then shows purple with the top two LEDs (if the current firmware is installed). This means that the air-Q’s internal time is still incorrect.
  5. Disconnect the unit from the power supply again, carefully slide the maintenance switch back towards the SD card (for the first revision of the air-Q, the switch is inside the housing – in this case, switch back towards the battery).Disconnect the unit from the power supply again, carefully slide the maintenance switch back towards the SD card (for the first revision of the air-Q, the switch is inside the housing – in this case, switch back towards the battery).
  6. If the air-Q is already connected to the WLAN: wait until the air-Q downloads the current time from the Internet. Otherwise, set up the air-Q normally for WLAN access and wait until the current time has been loaded from the Internet.

There may be several restarts during the search for the correct time, until the top LEDs are no longer purple.

Please make sure that you are using the latest firmware on the device.
