What do the three particulate matter values PM₁, PM₂‚₅ and PM₁₀ mean?

The Fine-dust measured value PM₁₀ detects particles up to 10 µm in size; PM₂’₅ detects particles up to 2.5 µm in diameter; and PM₁ detects particles up to 1 µm in size. Here, the PM₁₀ particulate matter measured value also includes PM₂’₅ and PM₁ measured values, and the PM₂’₅ measured value also includes PM₁. For the measured values measured in µg/m³ or in particle count, the following applies: measured value PM₁₀ > measured value PM₂’₅ > measured value PM₁.
