What do the three particulate matter values PM₁, PM₂‚₅ and PM₁₀ mean?

The PM₁₀ particulate matter measurement value detects particles with a size of up to 10 µm

PM₂’₅ detects particles with a diameter of up to 2.5 µm

PM₁ detects particles with a size of up to 1 µm.

Here, the PM₁₀ particulate matter measured value also contains the PM₂’₅ and PM₁ measured values

The PM₂’₅ measured value also includes PM₁.

For the measured values measured in µg/m³ or in particle count, the following applies: measured value PM₁₀ > measured value PM₂’₅ > measured value PM₁.
